Our Code of Ethics

The Canadian Olympic Foundation's adheres to the practices set forth in the following documents:

• The Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice drawn up by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP),
• The Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code created by Imagine Canada,
• The Canadian Code of Practice for Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce developed by the federal government's Consumer Measures Committee and endorsed by the Office of Consumer Affairs, Industry Canada,
• The AFP's Donor Bill of Rights.

Your privacy and protection

We respect the privacy and confidentiality of our donors' information, and strictly follow all legislative rulings set down in the federal government's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), maintained by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

(From time to time the Canadian Olympic Foundation works with Olympic Partners and other Corporations and Organizations in our fundraising activities. Donor names and email addresses which arise from these activities may be shared with these Olympic Partners, Corporations and Organizations only if the donor has had a meaningful opportunity to decline. – This is in accordance and within the above documents.)

• Code d'éthique relatif à la collecte de fonds et à la responsabilité financière de l'organisme Imagine Canada
• Code canadien de pratiques pour la protection des consommateurs dans le commerce électronique du Comité des mesures en matière de consommation, Bureau de la consommation, Industrie Canada
• Charte des droits du donateur de l'Association des professionnels en philanthropie.

Confidentialité et protection des renseignements personnels

La Fondation olympique canadienne assure la confidentialité et la protection des renseignements personnels de ses donateurs conformément à la Loi sur la protection des renseignements personnels et les documents électroniques (LPRPDE) du Commissariat à la protection de la vie privée du Canada.
